What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a healthcare profession that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders and their impact on overall health. Osteopaths undergo university training and education to become qualified practitioners and are registered under AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
Osteopathy utilizes a hands-on approach to assess patients and employ various manual techniques, such as joint manipulation, soft tissue massage, stretching, and exercise prescription, to restore balance, improve mobility, build strength, alleviate pain, and promote natural healing processes within the body.
Osteopaths address a wide range of health issues, including musculoskeletal conditions, headaches, sports injuries, postural problems, pregnancy-related discomfort, and chronic pain. They provide comprehensive, patient-centered care by considering the interconnectedness of the body's structure, function, and overall well-being.
